Wedding favors? Center pieces? Decorations?
Im the maid of honor for my best friends wedding and Im having a hard time deciding on wedding favors. This is my 1st time ever being in a wedding so I pretty much have no clue what is ideal or cute. I went to a few websites and got a few ideas but I wanted to get everyone elses opinion. The wedding is in 7 weeks and it out doors in a huge flower garden if that helps. Her colors are watermelon, pink frost & white. Any ideas on decorations and center pieces would be helpful too! Thx!

For my nieces wedding, we made hundreds of colorful paper cranes. We put small ones all over the tables and larger ones as centerpieces on the cake and sign in tables.

i did instant lottery tickets for my wedding.
i don’t get it though.. you’re the maid of honor.. why do you have to do all this? the bride and groom should be doing it!

i was in a wedding and we made fortune cookies the favors. we got cellphone bags, dipped 1/2 of 1 cookie in one color and 1/2 of another cookie in the other color and then put both in the bag and tied them off w/raffia. it was really cute and inexpensive too! if you’re doing the outdoor wedding in a flower garden, I’d keep that as your theme for the center pieces and as far as decorating, just don’t go overboard!

I think its great that you are helping your friend out so much. Does the bride not have any input on her wedding favors? You could always do fans for the ladies (in case its warm) I’m a huge fan of doing donations to the favorite charity of the bride and groom. If their family has been affected by illness cancer or heart disease you can choose that charity. I’ve been to many weddings and what do you do with all of those mismatched votives with the name and date of the wedding? Another cute idea is a plant of sorts that would go with the garden/park setting and would help you with your centerpiece issue. Another idea for a centerpiece is using some hurricane vases in various sizes and you can fill them with limes or apples and maybe have a spray of hydrangea in pink or white out of the top. Otherwise you can fill the hurricane (tall cylinder vase) with water and put a fine flower inside coming up in a spiral pattern from the bottom and float a candle on the top. both of those are pretty easy and pretty cheap if you are on a budget. The more flowers you buy the more money it costs. Also anything you can find that is in season will always be less money.

A small vase w/ a single Gerbera daisy would look cute. Sprinkle a few real or silk rose petals down the center or around the middle of the table. Have small white tin pails filled w/ wrapped mints (orientaltrading.com).
